F HOUSE

The project aimed to modernize a 1914 house while preserving its historic character and integrating it into Cluj’s valuable urban fabric. Part of a harmonious architectural ensemble, the house was vertically extended by raising the roof 70 cm to create a functional attic.
The interior was restored, focusing on original wood and metal details, while insulation was upgraded to meet modern standards. A glazed winter garden was added at the rear, offering abundant natural light and acting as a thermally insulated transition space, complete with a fireplace.
The outdated garage was replaced with an underground one, accessible via two interior staircases: one to the attic and one to the basement and garage.
The exterior preserves its authentic look: insulated walls, a ceramic tile roof, and a raised section clad in standing seam metal. Wooden joinery and original ironwork were restored or faithfully recreated.
The renovated house and landscaped garden, including a pool and outdoor seating areas, now offer a peaceful urban retreat just minutes from the city center.
